This deck features one of the most unique and handsome backs we have ever seen! It's got this black 'evil' design, but that's about it, it's not very gothic. We have heard that there were less than 2,000 of these decks produced. They were made for the A-Omoro Magic Bar and never used! Yet another great card by Bicycle.

Yet another edition of playing card introductions and review. Here we have Bicycle playing cards.

In celebration of the Millennium, the United States Playing Card Company issued Bicycle 2000, a limited edition of two decks of playing cards in a tin. The design of the cards and of the tin itself are quite impressive, featuring significant events, inventions and people from history.

This amazing collection doesn't really fetch a high price in the market at the moment, but it sure is a limited edition pack worth keeping.

Theory 11 – Bees “Stinger” Playing Cards

One of my favorite cards from Theory11.

Introducing Bee STINGER playing cards. One of the simplest yet coolest looking playing deck design/pattern I've seen in all my collection. According to the website in Theory11, these cards are printed on the finest Aristocrat stock, to ensure incredible durability, fanning capability, and snap.

This is actually "1st Edition" Stingers, there is a 2nd edition; much improved playing cards that are available for order, up-to-date. There isn't much change from 1st to 2nd in terms of cosmetic looks, just the feel and stock of the cards.

i liked it so much that when I first got news that it was going to be phased out, I went to get 2 extra ones.





One way of seeing if they are 1st edition STINGERS is to see the location where it was made. 1st editions have CINCINNATI, OHIO on the sides; 2nd editions have KENTUCKY printed on the sides.

Jerry's Nugget Casino Playing Cards (Red)

Jerry's Nugget Playing Cards !!!! Made in 1970. This was one deck that got me all excited when I first gain interest in playing cards.

Used to think that even the best cards with best finishing and feel, for card flourishing or magic, can be replicated. A close example will be the Ghost Deck (2nd Edition). However, you are looking at a deck that can NEVER be replicated or reproduce again.

As quoted in wikipedia (Jerry's_Nugget_playing_cards): The classic Jerry's Nugget playing cards were made from top of the line US Playing Card Company card stock, that is not available today, which makes the cards much thicker. The U.S.P.C. also used a chemical finish then, which is also not available today - due to environmental reasons.

Dai Vernon, Larry Jennings, Ed Marlo, Lee Asher, Frank Simon, Chris Kenner, Earl Nelson, Dan Buck, Dave Buck, Wayne Houchin, and many other notable magicians have been seen playing with Jerry's Nugget playing cards. The playing cards are stiff, hold their form, and are easily manipulated. Flourishers have taken a liking to these pasteboards as well.

SUN CRUISE Playing Cards (Blue)

Look what my Mum found in the storeroom... Nice condition Sun Cruise playing cards made by Carta Mundi and in Belgium. This is Sun Cruise's playing card, which was used on board the ship, for their casino.

A little history on Sun Cruise. They were bought over by a giant cruise company known as Star Cruises. Star Cruises is the Leading Cruise Line In Asia Pacific.

"More than 1,100 passengers aboard a luxury cruise liner Sun Vista, owned by Singapore-based Sun Cruises Ltd scrambled overboard as the ship caught fire and sank off the western coast of Malaysia early Friday 21st May 1999. The incident occurred in international waters.A spokesman for the marine police in Penang said the switchboard in the liner's engine room caught fire on Thursday afternoon. Evidently there was a power failure and a fire in the engine room. An investigation is under way as to why the ship sunk."

Went over to Aunty Sue's place this morning. She's a Caucasian church friend of ours.

Anyway back to cards. I was suppose to get a card from her which I had won over on ebay 3 weeks back. Asked the seller to send it over to Aunty Sue's house in US, so that I could save on shipping fee. (USD12.15 every time!).

Thank you gabbey2001 from ebay. Nice cards well packed. This would be my first casino playing card that I've gotten from ebay. I added this to my collection as it is very rare to find factory sealed casino playing cards that are actually used at the casino. Even so when the market is filled with canceled casino playing cards.

Also come with Bicycle Atlanta 96 Playing Cards (Limited Vintage Green) single deck. I added this awesome set to my collection as it a limited edition series from the 96 atlanta games and it comes with a beautiful box set. This is surely a valuable deck to keep.

Got this deck from Lawrence today. He was very nice to help replace the previous set that he delivered. There was no major issue, just a minor clipped which I was quite fussy about.

Decide to get this even though it is quite expensive. First of all, Tom Foolery Mullica cards are not that common, in fact, rare. Plus this comes with autograph edition that Lawrence got from Tom Mullica himself !! This deck is about 20 years old.



"Tom Mullica opened the “Tom-Foolery Magic Bar Theatre” in Atlanta, Georgia in 1978. After opening the bar Tom had the U.S. Playing Card Co. print a run of special Bicycle (Poker size) cards with backs featuring the club’s logo in a burgundy color. The purpose of these decks were for his own use during the magic show.

Introduction

Hi All,

I'm a Playing card Enthusiast from Singapore. I will not 'dare' to claim that I'm a "collector" yet 'cuase I'm kinda new in this hobby of mine.

So far I have got 60 over cards over the period of 5 weeks and I have spent hours and hours looking into forums, articles, ebay on playing cards. I have also been in contact with antique playing cards all over the world with regards to valuable playing cards, and have so far have some extent of knowledge in this field.

This blog will be used to track my weekly, or even daily spree on those playing cards with value. I will upload tons of playing card pictures and even tell you why I bought them.
